Noise Pollution

Noise Pollution
Believe it or not, noise is a type of pollution. Take New York City as an example, so much noise. Did you know that traffic is the main source of noise pollution in cities? Noise pollution affects both human health and behavior. Unwanted noise can damage your physiological health. Noise pollution can cause high stress levels, hearing loss, sleep disturbances, and other harmful effects. Noise pollution also has negative effects on wildlife. It can disturb the careful balance in predator and prey detection and avoidance. Also, just like with humans, it can cause temporary or permanent hearing loss. Noise pollution is caused by things like cars, buses, loud music, and other things that make lots of noise. What can we do to stop it? Well, refrain from letting your car idle (in CT it's illegal to idle for over 3 minutes), making sure your car has a muffler and it works, not playing music too loudly, being quiet when in nature, and shutting off noisy devices at night. I hope that you'll consider doing some of these this to reduce noise pollution. 🌏
